Un ex campe\u00f3n alem\u00e1n de barismo y ahora el actual campe\u00f3n alem\u00e1n &#039;Coffee in Good Spirits&#039; (CiGS), <strong>Nicole Battefeld <\/strong>estaba buscando algo de caf\u00e9 para mostrar en el escenario mundial en el Campeonato Mundial CiGS. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Eres un barista, un tostador, un entrenador y adem\u00e1s de todo esto, un competidor, \u00bfc\u00f3mo equilibras todas estas cosas?<\/strong><br><br>Creo que se equilibra solo. Tener la opci\u00f3n de trabajar en tantos puestos, poder competir adem\u00e1s de esto, equilibra muchos aspectos de los temas m\u00e1s amplios del caf\u00e9. No me encuentro totalmente inmerso en un aspecto del caf\u00e9, pero puedo expandirme. a trav\u00e9s de muchos aspectos y obtener un conocimiento general. En mi vida laboral, he mantenido un plan de turnos muy equilibrado para poder dar a todos estos puestos y temas en el caf\u00e9 su propia atenci\u00f3n y enfoque.<br><br>En mi vida privada, he aprendido a equilibrar todas esas responsabilidades con el arte y los deportes: \u00a1todos necesitan una liberaci\u00f3n!<br><br><strong><br>\u00bfQu\u00e9 te hizo decidir participar en la competencia Coffee in Good Spirits?<\/strong><br><br>Para ser honesto... decid\u00ed darle una oportunidad a Coffee in Good Spirits (CiGS) despu\u00e9s de no ganar el campeonato alem\u00e1n de baristas. hab\u00eda puesto 1<sup>S t<\/sup>&nbsp;en 2018, pero no pude competir en el Campeonato Mundial de Baristas debido a una lesi\u00f3n, as\u00ed que cuando regres\u00e9 en 2019 al escenario de baristas y qued\u00e9 en el tercer lugar<sup>rd<\/sup>, Todav\u00eda ten\u00eda ese impulso para volver al escenario y no quer\u00eda esperar otro a\u00f1o. Resulta que est\u00e1 muy alineado con mis intereses, y realmente disfruto el nivel de creatividad y estilo individual que un competidor puede aportar al escenario de CiGS.<br><br><br><strong>\u00bfCu\u00e1l es su proceso de selecci\u00f3n de un caf\u00e9 para las competencias (cata muchas muestras, alguien elige por usted, cu\u00e1ntas prueba)?<\/strong><br><br>Despu\u00e9s de varios a\u00f1os de trabajar en caf\u00e9s especiales y competir, conf\u00edo en mi intuici\u00f3n. Estoy rodeado de profesionales del caf\u00e9 y hay demasiado caf\u00e9 en el mundo para catarlo. Entonces, decidirse por un caf\u00e9 tiene mucho que ver con la confianza y el sentimiento adecuado. Cuando se reduce a quiz\u00e1s 10, decido por cata.<br><br><br><strong>\u00bfC\u00f3mo elegiste tu caf\u00e9 para el World Coffee in Good Spirits? \u00bfPor qu\u00e9 elegiste estos caf\u00e9s?<\/strong><br><br>El caf\u00e9 principal de mis presentaciones fue una caturra natural de Finca Deborah en Panam\u00e1. Tuve la oportunidad de conocer en persona a Jamison Savage, el propietario y productor de Finca Deborah mientras trabajaba en la Specialty Coffee Expo en Boston. Conoc\u00eda su reputaci\u00f3n y sab\u00eda que hac\u00eda caf\u00e9s geniales, as\u00ed que despu\u00e9s de que termin\u00f3 la exposici\u00f3n y est\u00e1bamos disfrutando de algunas bebidas, \u00a1solo pregunt\u00e9! Termin\u00f3 envi\u00e1ndome tres caf\u00e9s diferentes y la caturra realmente se destac\u00f3 y me convenci\u00f3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Para mi bebida caliente de dise\u00f1ador, eleg\u00ed un caf\u00e9 brasile\u00f1o con el que trabaj\u00e9 durante algunos a\u00f1os y me sent\u00ed s\u00faper seguro y confiado con \u00e9l. Para mis finales, nuevamente tuve la suerte de hacer excelentes conexiones con los equipos de Project Origin y ONA Coffee: me sugirieron un bourbon procesado por maceraci\u00f3n carb\u00f3nica de Los Pirineos, en El Salvador. Este caf\u00e9 era parte del&nbsp;<em>Jaspe<\/em>&nbsp;categor\u00eda de Project Origin&#039;s&nbsp;<em>CM Selections<\/em>&nbsp;serie, y el perfil de frutas rojas y secas era perfecto para el Caf\u00e9 Irland\u00e9s que ten\u00eda que hacer durante las finales. Me sent\u00ed apoyado por el equipo de Project Origin y confi\u00e9 en ellos para elegir el caf\u00e9 adecuado para m\u00ed. Sigo enamorada de este perfil de Jasper y no tuve ni una sola duda de este caf\u00e9 al usarlo en el escenario.<br><br><br><strong>\u00bfTiene un origen\/proceso\/perfil de sabor favorito? \u00bfPor qu\u00e9?<\/strong><br><br>De nada. Si comparas el caf\u00e9 con, digamos, el color azul. Hay tantos tonos de azul: va desde la luz casi blanca, al azul claro del oc\u00e9ano y termina en un cielo nocturno, azul oscuro. Pero, todo esto es azul. As\u00ed es como veo el caf\u00e9. Tiene tantos gustos diferentes y puedes &quot;pintar&quot; tantos sabores diferentes con \u00e9l. Es por eso que nuestro trabajo es tan emocionante y nunca se vuelve aburrido. \u00a1Es emocionante!<br><br><br><strong>\u00bfCu\u00e1l ser\u00eda su consejo para alguien que busca competir en competencias de caf\u00e9 (es decir, c\u00f3mo comienzan)?<\/strong><br><br>Solo hazlo. Toma todo el coraje que puedas encontrar y conf\u00eda en ti mismo. \u00bfQu\u00e9 tienes que perder? Cada experiencia te ayudar\u00e1 a crecer. Es importante que busque apoyo, tal vez encontrando algunos patrocinadores, hablando con otros competidores y rode\u00e1ndose de personas que lo ayudar\u00e1n y le brindar\u00e1n comentarios honestos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hazlo. Nunca sabr\u00e1s si podr\u00edas hacerlo si no lo intentas.<br><br><br><strong>\u00bfQu\u00e9 sigue para ti?<\/strong><br><br>Recientemente me mud\u00e9 a Australia para cambiar de ambiente y experimentar la escena del caf\u00e9. Estoy muy emocionada de recibir toda esta nueva informaci\u00f3n. \u00a1Soy como una esponja que tiene mucha sed y solo quiero absorber todas estas diferentes experiencias de caf\u00e9! En cuanto a las competencias, definitivamente me estoy preparando tanto para el Coffee in Good Spirits 2020 como para el Barista Championships en Alemania.
