The cup profiles that develop from the depths of Ecuador are proving to be so special and so unique, that it is hard to believe it is not a more popular specialty coffee origin than its current recognition. The land is mountainous and fertile and creates a multitude of micro-climates to allow both arabica and robusta coffee cherries to mature differently and for processing to accentuate all the attributes of the land. Ecuador is an exciting country to explore and Project Origin will be ready to showcase the wonderful flavours of Ecuadorian specialty green beans.
🌤️ Rain patterns, as with much of Central and South America, have been seasonal but occasionally unpredictable, making it difficult to plan harvesting and drying on farms.
🌱 The climate of Ecuador and topography is such that as a country, coffee can be harvested all year round. However, we are typically sourcing from Ecuador around July-October each year. Volume expectations are a little lower than usual. Some of our partners have produced less than expected and demand is very high this year, making availability very slim.
📦 We will be sourcing based on expressions of interest and keeping little, if any, Ecuador microlots in our inventory due to high demand and low volume availability.
💰 Producers are expecting payment in advance to secure stock due to financial pressures.
🗓️ The following pricing guide refers to the 2023 crop.
🇺🇸 Please note all price indications are based on current market conditions as of 1st August 2023 with the NYC coffee market price at approximately US$1.65/lb.
✅ All prices will be reviewed at the time of sale or contracting.
💲Price range is based on variety, process, lot size, and cup quality. Talk to the sales team for specific quotes for your business.
