Timor-Leste is a new addition to the Project Origin specialty coffee offering, and we couldn’t be more proud of the collaborative work taking place. With the help of international partners Kape Diem, 1LM and the Australian Government, Project Origin is investing in better equipment and worker training to increase the production of coffees growing in Timor-Leste. We have goals of exponential growth and increasing fair and equal work for coffee producers, and we believe, that with a little bit of love and support, the farmers and communities in these areas will flourish in the world of high quality specialty coffee.
🌤️ Rain patterns were predictable and weather was decent for production this year.
🌱 Volume expectations are lower than expected country wide.
💰 Project Origin’s project with our on the ground partners in Timor-Leste this year had major obstacles to overcome and it was challenging to see all the hard work of our team and staff be crippled by circumstances out of our control.
As a result, volume available from Timor-Leste this season is extremely limited and will be allocated first to roasters who have been supporting our Orijem Timor project since its inception, and have existing contracts.
🗓️ The following pricing guide refers to the 2023 crop.
🇺🇸 Please note all price indications are based on current market conditions as of 1st August 2023 with the NYC coffee market price at approximately US$1.65/lb.
✅ All prices will be reviewed at the time of sale or contracting.
