Coffee farmer planting germinated young tree in earth in Peru

A country with a long history of coffee production but a short history of modern specialty exposure, Peru’s landscape caters well to the hundreds of small-holder farmers that produce organic, fair trade, specialty arabica coffee. Growing coffee in Peru has traditionally been about quantity, but with the help of some new infrastructure and organisations putting effort towards education and processing techniques, the producers have found value in switching from commercial to specialty grade harvests. Project Origin is beginning to explore the coffees of Peru and anticipate that the relationships we will discover across this country will prove special and flavourful.

Harvest

Peru has one main harvesting period from May to September. Coffees will typically ship from each origin about 3-4 months after the harvest begins.
