The ECX Area of Limu is located within the Jimma Zone, of the Oromio Region. Unique to the Limu coffee area, the green beans are titled based on the processing methods used. Natural process coffee from this region are called Jimma coffees, while the washed processed coffees are called Limu, despite coming from the same place. Coffee trees across all of Ethiopia are mostly grown by small-holder farmers and typically in the farmer’s backyards. This is known as ‘garden coffee’, and when it comes time for harvest, all the garden coffees in the area come together to give us Limu (or Jimma) coffee.
