The 2019 Brazil harvest is ending; time to think about securing your supply of this critical blending component for the next 6-12 months.
This is the moment when Brazilian beans are at their freshest, and when the best lots get bought up by bigger roasters, so it’s important for all of us to think Brazil at this time of year. At Project Origin, we buy more Brazil containers than any other origin and we put a lot of effort into forecasting and securing contracts well in advance for our Santa Lucia and Samba Regional coffees. Why all the effort? Because we know the problems that can be caused to roasters by running out of this bean. Any coffee that makes up 25% to 50% of your blend is a coffee you don’t want to find is suddenly unavailable.
That’s why we help roasters forecast their Brazil requirements for the year and contract enough coffee to cover them. Not only does this ensure that you don’t run out, but it locks in the price of the coffee for 3, 6 or even 12 months in advance, especially handy at the moment with the volatility in the US dollar and the market price of coffee. Knowing that your supply of Brazil is locked in at a stable price lets you focus on the really special coffee in your line-up. We can also provide warehousing of Brazil with a regular delivery schedule so that you don’t have to find space to squeeze in a few more pallets into already tightly-packed roasteries.
And we’re always happy to find a Brazil to match your price range and profile. Perhaps our current Santa Lucia and Samba Regional coffees aren’t quite right for you? No problem! Get in contact with us and we can chat about what you need. We have access to a whole range of different Brazil profiles and pricing, so depending on the volume you need, we can come up with a solution just for you.
