Project Origin is excited to announce official distribution to South Korea, with the establishment of ‘Project Origin Korea’.

This announcement comes only weeks after two competitors used Project Origin-sourced coffee in the finals of the 2018 World Barista Championship in Amsterdam.

With distribution partners in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and an office in Shanghai, the establishment of Project Origin Korea is the first official venture by the Project Origin team to Korea.

Project Origin founder, Saša Šestić says that he is excited to share the mission of his team with the Korean peninsula.

“When we last visited [South] Korea for the World Barista Championships in 2017, we were so impressed by the standard of specialty coffee there,” he said.

“The specialty market there is really focused on sharing the hard work of producers from around the world, which is very much what we aim to do through Project Origin.”

Spearheading Project Origin Korea is Sungmin Kim, head of ACME Coffee Solutions.

“We are really excited to be working with Sungmin and finding new ways to share the coffees we source with coffee lovers in [South] Korea,” Saša said.

The new venture is already well under way, with Project Origin Korea having just finished a cupping tour of Panama geisha coffees through Seoul, Jeonju, Busan and Jeju.

Project Origin Korea can be found on Instagram at @projectorigin_korea  and contacted via the Project Origin distribution page.
