Our values
Sustainability
We believe the work of a coffee producer deserves to be rewarded. In order to build economic and agricultural sustainability, Project Origin pays premium prices for green beans, we created our Regionals program to purchase small microlots that would otherwise be forgotten, developed processing techniques to increase coffee quality leading to greater incomes, and invested in community projects to help better the livelihoods of those who contribute to the coffee farms. To continue this work, we share our programs with our roasting partners, believing in the power of transparency along the supply chain.
Sustainability in Rwanda
“Supporting women is to support all nations” Nova Coffee in Rwanda, founded and managed by the wonderful Agnes Mukamushinja, began as a family business in
Sustainability at El Arbol
In 2015, Saša Šestić and Claudia Lovo teamed up to purchase land in Dipilto, Nueva Segovia, Nicaragua. This land was previously used to grow commercial
Biochar – David Ngibuini
Biochar is naturally and organically made and can help improve soil qualities as well as clean up our Earth’s atmosphere. Our friend David Ngibuini at Maguta Estate, Kenya, is making his own biochar to improve coffee trees and yields, and we asked how he manages to do that.
Organic Fertilisers – Don Fabio Caballero
It takes a lot of organic matter to create your own fertiliser to nourish coffee trees and balance soil qualities. Our friends Don Fabio, Marysabel and Moises have found a fertilising solution that works for their trees and keeps their farms sustainable, while utilising the matter they have available to them at their two farms in Honduras.

Our Core Values
Quality
Quality, for us, is more than just a cupping score. We take the relationship of score, cup profile, price and purpose to stamp our Project Origin mark of value on a coffee.
Sustainability
We take economic sustainability seriously. By working with farmers and producers directly, we can help create a sustainable business model that helps them both thrive and produce high quality specialty coffee beans.
Community
We value the community efforts that go into producing coffee and so we invest in projects that can better both the quality of the coffee and livelihoods of those working to produce it.
