Buliza

The Buliza Washing Station sits at 1790 masl but the cherries grown that supply this station range in altitude from 1750 all the way up to 2100 metres above sea level. This very high altitude allows for the beautifully, vibrant red bourbon cherries to ripen and mature slowly, resulting in strong cup profiles and flavourful expressions. Not only does the high altitude benefit the cherry growth, but the abundance of protected bees helps increase pollination by 36-50%. The Roots Trading Company has explored the true value of bees on coffee tree growth and pollination, and go to great lengths to ensure the surrounding areas are bee-safe and friendly. Coffee farmers who supply this washing station are part of the Farmer’s Co-operative Ucocaru.
