5 Origins.
5 Coffees.
5 Water Wells.

Project Origin contributed towards building a fresh water well for the communities in Guji for all to use. Part of our community projects

A collaborative coffee release series supporting sustainable access to safe water in Ethiopian communities through long-term infrastructure projects and local partnerships, funded by roasters.

"Families no longer have to choose between time, health, or hydration."

Coffee has always been built on the everyday connections between people, places and stories. Behind every coffee are communities navigating challenges that extend far beyond the cup itself.

As part of our celebrations for 10 years of Project Origin, we are partnering with Water for Good to fund the construction and restoration of 10 community water wells across Ethiopian regions.

Five of these will be directly funded by roasters who purchase coffee lots titled Community Well.

Every purchase of these coffees contributes directly toward a specific community water project, creating a transparent connection between roasters and producing communities. The selling out of each of the 5 coffees will result in one complete well.

The additional five wells will be funded by Project Origin through our long-standing commitment to community impact. Since our inception, a portion of every coffee sale – regardless of origin or harvest year – has been allocated toward community-focused projects across origin.

This means that every roaster who partners with Project Origin contributes to impact at origin. Whether through these five coffees directly, or through everyday purchases, our coffee community continues to help support long-term initiatives designed to create meaningful and sustainable change.

Together, with 5 Origins, 5 Coffees, 5 Water Wells, we are turning daily rituals into truly meaningful impact.

Real impact made by everyday roasters

How this works

Because of this work, communities across Ethiopia will have reliable access to safe water for the first time. What once meant long walks to unsafe sources is now a local, sustainable system, built to serve families for years to come.

These projects don’t just deliver water: they change daily life. Time is returned. Health improves. Communities grow stronger.

And you can directly contribute to these projects.

5 Origins

Kenya, Ethiopia, Nicaragua, Honduras, Panama. Coffees from five different origins, to represent how global reach results in major impact.

5 Coffees

Five Project Origin Signature coffees have been selected and each link directly to one community water well each.

5 Water Wells

Sales from each coffee contribute directly toward the funding of 5 water wells through Water for Good.

Why water?

Reliable access to safe water changes far more than hydration alone.

In many rural communities, collecting water can require long journeys to unsafe or unreliable sources. Sustainable water access supports health outcomes, education, sanitation, food preparation, and daily community life.

This initiative focuses on supporting long-term, sustainable systems through projects designed with local participation, maintenance planning, and ongoing operational support.

Who is Water for Good?

Water for Good is a non-profit organisation focused on delivering long-term, sustainable access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene in communities that need it most. Operating across five countries, including Ethiopia, Uganda, and the Central African Republic, their work has already provided basic water access to over 500,000 people, with more than one million people supported through ongoing maintenance programs.

Their approach goes beyond installation. By investing in infrastructure, local training, and long-term system maintenance, Water for Good ensures that water access remains reliable for years – not just at the moment of construction. In communities where their “Healthy Village” model has been implemented, childhood diarrhoea has been reduced by up to 90%, highlighting the broader impact of consistent access to clean water.

Project Origin is proud to partner with Water for Good on this initiative, working together to create meaningful, lasting impact in the communities behind the coffees we share.
