La Piragua Drying Beds – Colombia

As part of our commitment to supporting friends and partners at origin, we helped build drying beds and invested towards CM processing infrastructure at La Piragua.
Drying beds built under shade at La Piragua in Colombia as part of our community projects

At Project Origin, we have an ongoing commitment to support our friends and partners at origin. Part of this commitment is accumulating funds towards farm and community projects that are beneficial to those living there. For producer Alexander Vargas at his farm Las Piragua in Colombia, we helped build new drying beds and collaborated on some carbonic maceration experiments.

The striped bourbon green beans that grow at Las Piragua have led to some interesting experimentation, but with Alexander’s keen eye for detail and strong passion for creating high quality specialty coffee, we found ourselves very excited to see the results.

Do you know about a community project we should get involved in? Let us know and let's talk about it!

Stay up to date!

We’ll share the latest projects we are working on and any updates along the way each month, as well as specialty coffee industry information and Project Origin news.
