Project Origin at MICE 2018

The Project Origin team travelled to Melbourne, Australia last week for the Melbourne International Coffee Expo (MICE) for 2018, the largest coffee expo in the Southern Hemisphere.

Running from March 22-25, MICE is an opportunity for coffee professionals across Australia and the Southern Hemisphere to gather, explore new ideas and of course, taste lots of coffee.

Project Origin was proud to hold two public cupping sessions at the Cupping Room at MICE, during which we shared some the new experimental lots from our CM Selections series, including coffees from Ethiopia, El Salvador and Honduras. It was a pleasure to be able to share these coffees with old friends and new, discussing these new experiments as well as other coffees we are currently offering and looking forward to receiving.

We are also proud to have supported many competitors in the Australian Specialty Coffee Association’s national competitions, including the Barista Championships and Brewers Cup. In both competitions, there were several coffees sourced by Project Origin – for many of these coffees, it was the first time they had been presented in the public domain.

In both the Australian Barista Championships and Australian Brewers Cup, four of the national finalists used Project Origin sourced coffee.
