Finca San Miguel rests near the top of a mountain above the clouds, in a hard to reach location due to the lack of road infrastructure. During harvest, heavy bags of coffee cherries need to be carried and walked 1 kilometre to the nearest gravel road for further transportation to the dry mill an hour away. Since its purchase in 2014, the farm has seen many changes, and producers Mario Jose Ortez and Doña Johana pay special attention to their soil quality and processing techniques to explore the many possibilities of high quality profiles available from this beautiful mountainside.
